From top left...
This is me with my first guitar, sitting with my sister Mindy,
who now lives in Boulder.
Next, me with some of my posse at my birthday party (3rd one, I
think).
Me in my Jose Feliciano outfit, playing for Mindy's Go-Go
birthday party. I think she was turning six.
Next is me with Mindy and my brother Doug, playing "singing
group" in our back yard. I was probably about 11 years old at
the time. Doug is now a professional musician performing
traditional Hawaiian slack-key guitar at the Royal Hawaiian
Hotel's (the Pink Palace) Mai Tai bar at Waikiki Beach on Sunday
nights.
Next is Mindy playing her flute with me accompanying her on
classical guitar. We were performing the music of J. S. Bach at
a friend's wedding. This was my first paid gig ever. How about
those glasses?
Here you see me with my brand new Guild six-string guitar. This
is the same guitar I play at most of my outdoor gigs these days.
It has been with me through quite a lot over the years. Don't
tell my other guitars, but it is still my favorite. I was 17 or
18 years old in this photo.
This one is a publicity photo of "Fitch and Chips", probably
taken in 1977. From left, me, Dan Downs (who still plays drums
in my band), Charlie Clark and Jackie Clark.
To the left of this photo is a shot of me when I was in college,
playing the Gibson electric guitar that I used when performing
with "Fitch and Chips".
This last one is a picture of "Fitch and Chips" from about 1976
(?). I was playing my first-ever electric guitar, which was a
Fender Bronco. It had only one pickup and was a budget model.
Check out those pants!
These pictures all come from my mother Marilyn's archives and
photo albums. Hope you enjoy them.
